HILL LOANED TO DEPORTIVO DAS AVES
JOHN KRETLOW - Friday, February 5, 2010
Kamani Hill got his wish for a change of scenery as Vitória Guimarães loaned out the American to Deportivo das Aves of the Liga de Honra in Portugal until the end of the current season.

It was reported and confirmed earlier by Hill that Vitória Guimarães was looking to loan him out in order for the forward to get more playing time.

"I just reported to Deportivo das Aves this week and I am excited for the challenge," Hill told Yanks Abroad. "The bottom line is that I need to get playing to stay on form and have the chance to establish myself."

Deportivo das Aves currently sits 10th in the Portuguese second division and eight points off a promotion spot.

"From what I've heard Aves is a good club with first division tradition so I think it's a good place for me to prove to Paulo Sergio (Vitória Guimarães coach) that I belong in Vitoria," added the Berkeley, California native.

Though the former UCLA star has found playing time hard to come by, he is in good spirits in regards to his new home.

"I am really ready to have an opportunity to play – so for now, in my current situation, I'm happy with the move but I want to be back in the first league next year so I'm working for that," concluded Hill.

Hill began his professional career for VfL Wolfsburg in 2006 and then joined Vitória Guimarães in May of 2009. Hill received his first senior CAP in 2007 after playing for various U.S. Youth National Teams.
