RICH FIDLER - Friday, February 26, 2010
Thanks to a pair of goals in the first half and three late in the game, Hemond Sport continued their impressive play at home in Friday nights win over FC Volendam.

Charles Kazlauskas opened the scoring just five minutes in to the game. The American midfielder was wide open in the middle of the six-yard box and headed home Marc Höcher's corner to put the home team ahead.

Just 11 minutes later Jack Tuyp, who was a game-time decision, would find the bottom right corner of the goal from outside the penalty area for the visitors.

In the 30th minute the home team went ahead when leading scorer Johan Voskamp easily tapped in the cross from Höcher for his 16th goal of the season.

With the game tied at two goals each, Volendam striker Dominique van Dijk was shown a straight red card by Serdar Gozubuyuk in the 45th minute for stomping on Kazlauskas.

Down a man the visitors would tie the score again in the 55th minute when Thijs Sluijter chipped goalkeeper Robert Van Westerop from the right side of the penalty area.

The man advantage took its' toll late in the game with three goals in the final eight minutes from the home team. Voskamp added his second of the game in the 82nd, before substitutes Joost Habraken and Sjaak Lettinga each scored in the 85th and 90th minutes.

Riding a four-game winning steak, Helmond Sport will head on the road to face FC Den Bosch next Friday.
