RECAP: BRISTOL ROVERS 1 - 0 STOCKPORT COUNTY
Jemal Johnson was pulled off during Stockport County's defeat at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday evening after the American winger injured a leg muscle in the first half.
Johnson started up front but was then substituted in the 39th minute with Bristol already in the lead. Stockport went on to end the match with 10 men after David Poole received his marching orders in the dying minutes.
The only goal of the game came after half an hour when Stockport defender Adam Griffin shot himself in the foot. Rushed to make a clearance, the left back sent an inch perfect cross to Rovers' Northern Ireland international Jeff Hughed. Without wasting another second, the winger rushed straight at Owain fon Williams and unleashed a rocket from 12 yards out into the far corner.
Johnson linked up well with Griffin in the attack three minutes later, with Griffin's blast parried wide by Rhys Evans. Poole picked up his second yellow in the 90th minute, joining Paul Turnbull and David Perkins in the book.
Johnson's injury will be assessed, and Stockport may have to face Charlton without the American this weekend.
