PREVIEW: KAVALA FC – ARIS THESSALONIKI
The Martians from Thessaloniki travel east on Thursday afternoon to defend their two-goal lead in the second leg of the Greek Cup semifinal.
Both Eddie Johnson and Freddy Adu feature on Hector Cuper's roster, following the latter's absence in the first-leg 3-1 win.
The Argentine's roster has five fresh faces that were absent in last Sunday's one-goal stalemate with Panionios. Regular starter Michalis Sifakis will return to the posts and backup netminder Renato Piovezan will miss out. Sergio Koke and Ronaldo Guiaro return from yellow card suspensions, and Athanassios Prittas and Ian Daly have worked their way back into the enlarged roster. Otherwise, Cuper's squad remains injury-free.
Kavala coach Aad de Mos can also take comfort in a blank injury list, but will nonetheless be without suspended midfielder Ivan Gvozdenović. The Serbian picked up his tenth and eleventh yellow cards of the season last Sunday in the Blue Argonauts' 3-3 tie.
Last Wednesday Aris booted in three tallies signed Sergio Koke and Javito, but conceded a lucky and vital away-goal from Benjamin Onwuachi.
The winner will book a ticket to the April 24th final, facing the survivor of PAS Giannina and Panathinaikos.
