PREVIEW: MIDWEEK DANISH ACTION
Chris Rolfe will look to maintain his place in Aalborg's starting eleven against Odense while Jamil Fearrington and Roskilde hope to carry their momentum into their matchup against Vestsjælland
Aalborg BK - Odense BK
Chris Rolfe will hope his performance in the weekend's win over Aarhus is enough to convince Aalborg coach Magnus Pehrsson to keep him in the starting lineup when second-place Odense pay a visit on Wednesday.
Rolfe finally cracked Aalborg's starting eleven over the weekend and rewarded his coach with an assist on the team's first goal.
The win kept the team in the midst of the five-way race for the third-place Europa League qualification spot, with only three points separating third-place Esbjerg from seventh-place Midtjylland.
Defender Kasper Bøgelund is available again for Aalborg after missing three games, however Kjetil Wæhler, Jeppe Curth, Daniel Fredheim Holm, Daniel Christensen and Marcus Tracy are all sidelined, likely assuring the start up front for Rolfe.
The visitors will be without Njogu Demba-Nyrén, Eric Djemba-Djemba and Anders K. Jacobsen, the former due to suspension and the latter two sidelined with injuries.
FC Midtjylland - AGF Aarhus
Benny Feilhaber should be back in the starting lineup for Aarhus on Wednesday as they look to rebound from Monday's loss on their visit to red-hot Midtjylland.
Feilhaber has shown that he's close to full strength after several substitute appearances, and should finally be ready to go from the opening whistle against regional rivals Midtjylland.
His creative presence will be well-needed as a trio of critical injuries cripples the team; forward Peter Graulund and support striker Davit Devdariani continue to be out with injury as does Feilhaber's midfield partner Jakob Poulsen.
In addition, the team will be without defender Anders Kure due to suspension.
The hosts are without forward Baba Collins with suspension as well as defender Martin Albrechtsen and talismanic striker Frank Kristensen who are both out with injury.
Brøndby IF - FC Nordsjælland
Afer putting in a full 90-minute shift during the weekend, Michael Parkhurst will hope to see more action on Thursday when the Wild Tigers head down the road to take on Brøndby.
The Wild Tigers narrowly avoided embarrassment in notching up a late equalizer to draw last-place Køge on Monday, and will need to dig deep for a better performance should they hope to take anything in Brøndby stadium against a team in the hunt for European qualification.
Coach Morten Wieghorst continues to be lacking the attacking presence of Sibusiso Zuma due to an ankle injury, but must now contend minus forward Andreas Laudrup and midfielder Søren Christensen who both went out of Monday's game injured.
Brøndby will have to hope a skeleton squad supplemented by a number of youth players will be enough to overcome eighth-place Nordsjælland. While both Jon Jönsson and Anders Randrup return from their respective suspension and injury, they will still be without forwards Martin Bernburg and Peter Madsen as well as midfielder Paul Jatta, who are all out injured.
Additionally, Thomas Rassmussen and Max von Schelbrügge have also been left out of the squad after battling minor injuries throughout the week.
FC Vestsjælland - FC Roskilde
Three days following their win over the league leaders, Jamil Fearrington and Roskilde will hope to keep their road momentum going when they visit Vestsjælland on Wednesday.
The team struggled through the fall on the edge of relegation but have stormed out of the gate in 2010 with two wins and a draw in their first three games.
They will try to continue their strong play against the league's fifth-placed team, who were held to an embarrassing scoreless draw with relegation-favorites Kolding over the weekend.
Roskilde continue to be without long-term absences Morten Avnskjold, who suffered catastrophic leg injury during last summer's pre-season preparations and forward Tobias Perch-Nielsen, who recently underwent surgery on his meniscus. Stefan Schmidt also continues to be out with a knee injury suffered two games before against Vejle.
Vestsjælland are reporting no injuries or suspensions for the game.
