Start's offensive juggernaut was temporarily derailed after drawing with Odd on Wednesday afternoon at Sor Arena in Kristiansand.

The American defensive duo of Hunter Freeman and Clay Goodson each went the distance in head coach Knut Torum's 4-4-2 formation. Freeman manned the right defensive flank while Goodson was a solid presence at center back.

The tie snaps a streak of three straight matches where Start had scored at least three goals.

But early on things looked as if Start would mount another impressive goal tally when Espen Borufsen put the hosts on the scoreboard in the 20th minute.

19 year old wonder-kid Christer Kleiven found a cutting Borufsen who had beaten two defenders and swept a left-footed shot into the back of the net.

However five minutes later Odd would equalize albeit with some controversy.

A shot into the area was deflected out by Start goalkeeper Kenneth Hoie only to see Odd send a header towards goal.

Hoie managed to block that attempt as well, but it was done with Odd forward Chukwuma Akabueze practically draping himself around the Start netminder.

Odd's Magnus Myklebust took advantage of the loose ball and slammed it home to level the score.

Start continued to push for a second goal but it never arrived and they were left with a frustrating draw in front of their home fans.

Goodson and Freeman will look to rebound on Sunday when Start visit Stromsgodset.
