PREVIEW: ESTORIL – AVES
NICK LEYDEN - Thursday, April 22, 2010
Tony Taylor and Bryan Arguez of Estoril will play host to a fellow Yank when Kamani Hill and CD Aves visit the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota on Saturday.

With only three games remaining in the season, Estoril will be looking to distance themselves from the relegation battle with a victory over visiting Aves.

Os Canarinhos are currently in 12th place in the 16 team Liga Vitalis, six points above the relegation zone.

Estoril will be bolstered by the return of influential midfielder Ângelo Varela, who missed last week's loss at Penafiel through suspension. Coach Neca will likely pair Varela with on-loan Corinthians attacker Lulinha in the center of the park.

With veteran Gabon striker Henry Antchouet injured, the hosts will rely heavily on leading scorer Calé to provide the spark up top.

Antchouet's absence potentially opens the door for former US U-20 striker Taylor to partner the Brazilian in attack.

After making a one minute league debut two weeks ago against Carregado, Taylor played the entire second half at Penafiel and will look to continue earning increased playing time.

Regular center back Arthur has also been ruled out though injury for Estoril, as have midfielders Filipe Gui da Costa and Erick.

The injuries may provide Florida native Bryan Arguez with an opportunity to make his debut as well. The former Hertha Berlin midfielder has dressed for two of the previous three games, though he has yet to see the field.

The visitors, who sit comfortably in seventh place, are coming off an impressive 1-1 tie with league leaders Portimonense.

The Aves goal was scored by João Silva, who will be sure to cause the Estoril defense headaches. The goal was the 19 year old's 14th of the season and fifth in the past five games.

Former UCLA standout Kamani Hill, who unexpectedly missed out on the Portimonense game due to injury, will also be looking to make his way back onto the field for the first time since a 30 minute appearance against Sporting Covilha over a month ago.
