Herculez Gomez remains tied for the league's scoring lead, while Francisco Torres and Pachuca are left out of the liguilla for the second consecutive tournament.

Estudiantes 3 2 Atlante

Estudiantes ended their season with a win over Atlante on Friday in a game that had good news for two Americans. Sammy Ochoa made the field for the final 16 minutes of the game, and Herculez Gomez remains tied for the league lead in goals scored.

Atlante was able to score first in the 13th minute when Jose Daniel Guerrero crossed the ball into the area. However the cross went untouched and curled into the right post and bounced into the goal. Estudiantes were able to tie the score before the half when in the 43rd minute, Gerardo Castillo was able to put in a rebound in the area.

In the 54th, Johan Fano, who was tied for the lead in scoring, scored. Unfortunately, it was against his own team as he accidentally headed in corner kick into his own goal to give Estudiantes the lead. Shortly after in the 67th minute, the "Pony" Ruiz put Estudiantes up by two when he converted a free kick.

Sammy Ochoa entered the game in the 74th minute and had an opportunity to score in the 84th minute when he received a cross from Ruiz. However, his shot went high and above the crossbar.

In the 90th minute, Jeronimo Amione scored from a corner kick for Atlante to close the gap but it was too little too late.

Estudiantes managed to do Herculez Gomez a favor and maintain his shared status as league scoring leader.

Tigres 1 2 Pachuca
Tigres 1 2 Pachuca

For Pachuca to reach the liguilla, three events had to take place: Pachuca had to win, and Atlas couldn't win. Pachuca did their part as they beat Tigres on the road, and have miraculously qualified for the liguilla as Pachuca owns a one goal differential over Cruz Azul.

Pachuca scored first in the 9th minute when Edgar Benitez converted a penalty after Dario Cvitanich was fouled in the area. After taking the lead, Pachuca continued to apply pressure and create opportunities but were unable to convert.

Francisco Torres entered in the 56th minute and immediately made an impact distributing the ball from his position of holding midfield. Pachuca was given a gift in the 72nd minute when Lucas Lobos was sent off for a studs up tackle.

Pachuca increased their lead in the 79th minute when Edgar Benitez was fouled in the area and was able to convert his second penalty kick of the game.

Tigres came within one when Jesus Molina scored off a header in the 83rd minute and they were almost able to tie when Tigres goalkeeper entered Pachuca's area and almost headed in a corner kick which would have officially ended Pachuca's season.

Tigres' left back Edgar Castillo did not play in the game as he is still injured.

For Pachuca the score was exactly what they needed in order to qualify. They will look to carry the momentum when they play on Wednesday when they take on Cruz Azul in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions League finals.

Indios 2 0 Pumas

Indios played their final game in the first division when they defeated Pumas this Sunday. It was a bittersweet day for the Ciudad Juarez team as they said their goodbyes in what was a disappointing season despite playing hard and with pride throughout. The victory was aided by the fact that many of Pumas' starters were either resting or away from the team training with the Mexican national team.

Hector Gimenez scored two goals to give his team the victory. The first goal came in the 17th minute when he headed in a pass from Edwin Santibanez. He scored a beautiful goal minutes later in the 27th when he received a pass on his chest and before the ball hit the ground he was able to turn and get the shot off to go up by two.

Marco Vidal started and played the entire 90 minutes as he has done every game this season since week one.

Indios are now officially relegated and will now look to fight towards promotion next season.

Herculez Gomez was suspended for Puebla's loss to Toluca. Nevertheless he finished the season tied for the league's scoring lead.
