Carlos Bocanegra returned from injury and went the distance as Rennes drew with Paris St. Germain on Saturday evening in the French capital at Parc des Princes Stadium.

Bocanegra had been out with an injury the last few weeks but returned to man the left back position for Les Rouges Et Noirs.

Rennes failed to capture the three points needed to keep their Europa League hopes alive and will likely finish the Ligue 1 season in the middle of the standings.

Jérôme Leroy put the visitors on the board first with a goal in the 32nd minute.

Fabien Lemoine combined with Jimmy Briand for a run down the left side before Briand found Leroy at the back post who touched it home to give the Bretons the lead.

Rennes would push for a second goal before the halftime break but were unable to capitalize and shortly after halftime, PSG would begin working their way back into the match.

In the 64th minute, defender Christophe Jallet found himself deep in the Rennes area and sent a cross back in front of the net to Guillaume Hoarau who was left unmarked and headed home to equalize.

It was one of the few lapses by Bocanegra and his fellow defenders but it was enough to leave Rennes with a splitting of the points for the third week in a row.

Rennes will hope to do better next weekend when they host a still Charlie Davies-less Sochaux.
