Coming off a terrific season with Puebla where he finished tied for league's scoring title, US national team forward Herculez Gomez has signed with CONCACAF Champions League winners Pachuca.

Born in Los Angeles but raised in Las Vegas, the 28 year old Gomez will join the club after the World Cup at the start of the next season.

Gomez will be the third American on the team next season along with Marco Vidal and fellow US World Cup teammate Jose Francisco Torres.

"Pachuca has purchased the contract of Herculez Gomez," Pachuca press officer Juan Manuel Vergara Oviedo told YA. "He is now with Pachuca and joins fellow US teammate Jose Francisco Torres with the club. It is a three year contract."

So far 2010 has been an incredible year for Gomez.

On New Year's Day he was unemployed following the 2009 MLS season. He then unexpectedly signed with Puebla, won the Mexican league scoring title and surprisingly made the US World Cup following his first international goal against the Czech Republic.
