United States international and Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein will apparently be taking his craft south of the border as he nears a deal with Mexican club Atlante.

Bornstein has spent his entire professional career with the Southern California franchise dating back to his MLS debut in 2006.

The left back is currently in South Africa with the US national team preparing for next week's World Cup and is expected to join the Cancun club following the tournament.

"There are still some final details that have to be worked out so the deal is not official," confirmed Atlante Press Officer David Sosa to YA. "However, we don't anticipate any problems and once those are done, Jonathan will join Atlante."

Since graduating from UCLA, Bornstein has appeared in over 100 matches for Chivas USA and has earned 31 caps with the US national team.
