After five seasons at Sheffield Wednesday, defender Frank Simek now has a new home after signing with English League One club Carlisle United.

Simek's contract with the Owls expired in May which allowed the Cumbrians to bring in the Missouri native as a free transfer.

In his years with Wednesday, Simek amassed over 100 appearances and scored a total of two goals.

The former Arsenal youth product agreed to terms with Carlisle last week and has already joined the club in preseason training.

"Frank has signed a full two years contract with the club," confirmed Carlisle United Media Officer Andy Hall to YA. "The deal was completed on July 1st."

Simek and the Blue Army will begin their 2010-2011 campaign on August 7th when they host Brentford.
