TRAFTON KENNEY - Tuesday, July 6, 2010
It was heartbreak for Daniel Antunez and FC Inter who fell just short to MyPa while Greg Eckhardt and VPS rolled to victry over AC Oulu.

MyPa 3 - 2 FC Inter

Despite a late comeback, Daniel Antunez and FC Inter fell to MyPa in a high-scoring game in Kouvola on Sunday.

Antunez started and played the full 90 minutes in defense.

FC Inter surprised the hosts with the opening goal seven minutes in when Mika Ojala beat Antti Kuisamalan to finish off a good ball from Kennedy Nwanganga.

MyPa, looking tired in the opening minutes from their 2-0 win over FC Trans Nava in Europa League qualifying earlier this week, regained their composure to find two goals in two minutes before halftime.

In the 38th minute, Antti Okkonen crossed to Ville Oksanen who tied the game at 1-1. MyPa found a killer second a minute later on a quick counterattack finished off by Ville Saxman.

The game looked finished when Pele Koljonen scored in the 89th minute but a Nwanganga goal in the last minute kept things interesting until the whistle.

FC Inter face FC Honka at the Veritas Stadion next Friday.

VPS 2-0 AC Oulu

VPS continued their winning ways with a comfortable victory over visitors AC Oulu last Friday in the Veikkausliiga.

American midfielder Greg Eckhardt built on a solid performance last week against Lahti by starting and playing the full 90 minutes in midfield.

Both teams had already faced each other earlier this season, with VPS beating out AC Oulu to advance in the Finnish Cup.

The hosts started well again but had to wait until the second half to find the opening goal. In the 47th minute, attacking midfielder Jyri Hietaharju fed Jussi Alto who finished well to give VPS the lead.

With five minutes remaining on the clock, Tony Björk finished the game off with a shot that left AC Oulu goalkeeper Dennys Rodrigues flatfooted.

VPS sit in 10th place and face MyPa next Sunday.
