DOYLE TRIALING AT DERBY COUNTY
Saturday, July 24, 2010
Texas native Conor Doyle is looking to make the jump from youth soccer to the English Championship as he heads into the final week of his trial with Derby County.

The 18 year-old from Dallas who played his youth soccer with the Dallas Texans is eligible for an Irish passport through his father David Doyle who was a player in the now defunct Major Indoor Soccer League.

The club confirmed that Doyle has been with the Rams since the second week of July and will stay on another week before a decision is reached on whether or not to sign the trialist.

"Conor has been with us since July 12th and is staying with us next week," Derby County press office Matt McCann told YA. "We will make a decision after that."

Doyle played the entire second half of Derby's preseason match to Burton Albion last Saturday and nearly scored on a header just minutes after coming on.

He then went on to play the full 90 minutes three days later in another friendly versus Bournemouth.
