RICH FIDLER - Wednesday, August 4, 2010
Head coach Bob Bradley has selected a roster of 18 players to face off against Brazil in their first friendly since the World Cup on Tuesday at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The roster is highlighted by the inclusion of Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones who missed out on his first chance to represent the United States at the international level in South Africa due to injury.

He is now practicing in Germany for his first meaningful action in months.

The roster is dominated by 14 players that led the US in South Africa.

Jones, Columbus Crew defender Chad Marshall, midfielders Alejandro Bedoya and Sacha Kljestan are the four players who did not represent the Red, White and Blue this summer.

Notable absences includes Sochaux striker Charlie Davies, who continues to work back into shape following last fall's horrific auto accident, and fellow forward Jozy Altidore who is seeking to lock down a roster spot with his club team Villarreal.

Other omissions include World Cup stalwart and Fulham man Clint Dempsey along with AC Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu.

Following the friendly against Brazil next week the US does not have any other contests scheduled although US Soccer President Sunil Gulati has indicated an annoucement will be forthcoming.
