CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON - Sunday, August 15, 2010
Michigan-native Josh Gatt recorded his first and second goals in the Black and Gold jersey in a dismantling of minnows SVG Reichenau in the opening round of the Stiegl Cup.

Gatt opened the scoring within minutes in his first start for Altach, and added a second just past the half-hour mark.

Coach Adi Hütter opted to rest regular starters Patrick Scherrer and leading scorer Harald Unverdorben, making way for Gatt to get the start and notch his first goal in the 5th minute.

Macedonian-Swiss striker Orhan Ademi added a second and his first this season at the 24 minute mark and Spaniard Tomi continued his scoring form with a direct strike off a freekick just two minutes.

Both Daniel Schütz and Gatt found the back of the net in the 32nd minute, shutting down any hopes for a surprise result from the Innsbruckers.

Defenders Andreas Simma and Alexander Guem got onto the scoring card in the 70th and 87th minute, respectively.

Julian Erhart completed the avalanche of goals two minutes from the final whistle against ten men, as Reichenau's Hannes Oberortner had seen red in the 82nd minute.

Altach find out their second round opponent next week, and resume Erste Liga action on Monday as they travel to FC Lustenau for a regional derby.
