FERRARI REFUTES SIRACUSA RUMOR
Current Sampdoria forward Gabriel Ferrari is denying reports that he will be loaned to Serie C club UD Siracusa.
Since signing with the Genoa club in January of 2007, Ferrari has yet to make his Serie A debut with Sampdoria but did feature in a Coppa Italia match versus Inter Milan back in February of that year.
The New York native then spent the 2008-2009 season on-loan at third division Perugia which was followed up by loan spells the following season to fellow lower division clubs Foggia and Ternana.
Reports out of Italy recently surfaced that an agreement had been reached between Sampdoria to send the former US Under-20 star back to Serie C however Ferrari says those reports were erroneous when asked if a deal was imminent.
"Not at all," Ferrari told YA. "I heard they wanted me but I said no."
The former MetroStars youth product has been recovering from shoulder surgery and has hopes of staying with his parent club for the upcoming season.
"My shoulder is better and in a week I start full training with contact," he concluded.
Ferrari appeared in 18 matches last season while in Serie C where he scored one goal.
