PREVIEW: LOKEREN - ANDERLECHT
Friday, August 20, 2010
Sacha Kljestan will hope to see some minutes for Anderlecht who pay a visit to Daknamstadion Stadium in Lokeren on Saturday in Eerste Klasse action.

Kljestan has not appeared in Anderlecht's previous two matches, a 4-0 league win over Germinal Beerschot and a 2-2 draw at Partizan Belgrade in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

The former Chivas USA man could see minutes off the bench in the second half as head coach AriŽl Jacobs may need some reinforcements in the wake of Wednesday's hard-fought duel versus the Serbians.

Anderlecht have begun their 2010-2011 league campaign in solid fashion with a road draw at Charleroi sandwiched between home wins over Beerschot and Eupen.

The latest news out of the suburban Brussels club has English giants Chelsea seeking out the services of star striker Romelu Lukaku.

Losing the hulking Belgian would be a big blow to the Purple & White as Lukaku tallied 15 goals in just 27 matches last season.

Lokeren enter the match in an unassuming 12th position in the league standings and have yet to register a victory this season.

The club barely avoided relegation last season finishing 14th but has scored four goals on the campaign including two from midfielder Koen Persoons who will pose as a threat to the Anderlecht defense.

One intriguing possibility off the bench for the hosts could be Norwegian forward Vegard Braaten who excelled last year at 1. Division club Alta IF where he played along side American Jay Needham.

Anderlecht starting striker Tom De Sutter is out for the next few months with an ankle injury and midfielders Jonathan Legear and Lucas Biglia should also be absent due to a hamstring and shoulder injury respectively.

Lokeren will likely be without Sepp De Roover, Sulejman Smajić and Karel Van Lierde whom are all injured.
