After parting with Danish second division club Vejle BK this past spring following a groin injury, American left back Euan Holden went on trial at St. Mirren of the Scottish Premier League but the club has reportedly passed.

"Just spoke with our [coach]," media officer Norrie Jamieson told YA today. "He said he won't be following up his interest in Euan."

Holden, 22, was born in Aberdeen, Scotland but was raised in the United States and became a citizen in recent years.

He developed in the NCAA ranks after playing his first two years at the University of Connecticut and his final two years at the University of New Mexico.

This past January, Holden was drafted by the Houston Dynamo in the fourth round of the MLS Superdraft but elected to try to begin his professional career in Europe.
