RECAP: OLIVEIRENSE 1 - 1 GD ESTORIL PRAIA
Tony Taylor played the final 20 minutes as Estoril fought back to secure a point on the road at Oliveirense, while fellow Yanks Greg Garza and Bryan Arguez were not on the game day roster.
Estoril entered Oliveira de Azeméis in a confident mood, having won their previous visit just a month ago. But the hosts opened the game stronger, going close multiple times in the opening half hour.
The Oliveirense breakthrough came in the 24th minute when veteran midfielder Rui Lima nodded a Bruno Sousa corner in at the far post for his second tally of the season.
Os Canarinhos' best chance of the half fell to Clodoaldo whose header forced Bruno Vale into an excellent kick save, sending the ball of his post and out of play.
The second half was all Estoril, as the visitors pressed for an equalizer throughout.
In the 70th minute, with Estoril still down a goal despite creating several opportunities, Vinícius Eutrópio replaced Alex Afonso with Taylor, the first of three offensive substitutions.
The Brazilian coach was repaid for his ambition in the 78th minute when midfielder Tiago Costa hit a rocket from just inside the area into the top right corner. There was nothing Bruno Vale could do to stop the 25 year-old's ferocious drive.
Estoril maintained the edge for the final ten minutes, though they were unable to create another goal and settled for a point apiece.
The tie gives Estoril four points, tied for seventh place in the young Liga Orangina season.
Os Canarinhos will next take the field on Saturday when they host league leaders Penafiel.
