PREVIEW: WEEKEND MEXICAN ACTION
Marco Vidal, Jose Francsico Torres, Herculez Gomez and Pachuca look to continue their momentum when they host Morelia while Sammy Ochoa and Estudiantes welcome in Atlas.
Estudiantes – Atlas
Estudiantes will take on streaking cross-town rivals, Atlas on Friday.
Estudiantes will need points from this game as they have not won in over three weeks.
Atlas, on the other hand, have gained seven points in the last three games and will look to continue their run.
Sammy Ochoa looks to have officially lost his starting spot after not playing last week so the American forward will hope to see some minutes off the bench in the second half.
The offense instead will be anchored by Mauro Cejas, who has been Estudiantes' only consistent goal-scoring threat all season.
Estudiantes will be without Juan Carlos Leaño who is suspended. Atlas will be without Heber Alferez, Darvin Chavez, and Luis Robles whom are injured.
Pachuca – Morelia
Pachuca will host Morelia on Saturday, brimming with confidence after their exciting victory over Pumas last week.
Pachuca have now won three games in a row, and sit one point away from a playoff spot.
Marco Vidal is expected to start again in the midfield where he has started the past five weeks.
He is expected to partner up with Carlos Peña in the middle, who appears to have usurped Jose Francisco Torres as the first choice midfielder.
Nevertheless Torres is expected to see time off the bench as he has been frequently used in the second half.
Herculez Gomez is looking to recover from Salmonella, which forced him to miss last week's game.
If available, he would most likely come off the bench as he has all season.
Pachuca will be without Leobardo Lopez, who is injured.
Morelia will be without their head coach Tomas Boy who was suspended in Morelia's game against Santos.
Morelia will also be missing Aldo Ramirez who is injured.
Edgar Castillo will start from the bench when San Luis host Queretaro on Saturday.
