PREVIEW: WEEKEND MEXICAN ACTION
WOODY BAUM - Thursday, October 21, 2010
The trio of Marco Vidal, Jose Torres, Herc Gomez will hope to lead Pachuca in their push for the playoffs while Edgar Castillo looks to make a rare start for San Luis.

Queretaro Estudiantes

Estudiantes will visit Queretaro on Saturday in an effort to establish a winning streak at the end of the tournament.

While both Estudiantes and Queretaro have seen their playoff hopes diminish, both are safely removed from the relegation zone barring an unforeseen tragedy

Sammy Ochoa will look to finish off the season as the starter for Estudiantes who helped his cause with a winning goal last week against Atlas. He is not projected to start but will mostly see the field in the second half on Saturday.

Eder Borelli and Adrian Romero will be out injured for Queretaro while Mario Rodriguez is injured for Estudiantes.

Jaguares Pachuca

Pachuca will visit Jaguares on Saturday in a game in which both teams will be looking for the victory in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Pachuca are coming off of a thrilling tie to Monarcas and will look to keep the momentum going as they haven't lost in over a month. Jaguares will look to rebound from their loss last week to Pumas.

Marco Vidal is projected to start in the midfield again, while Francisco Torres will most likely see the field in the second half. Herculez Gomez should also expect some playing time as both he and Torres seem to be Coach Pablo Marini's first choices in the second half.

Ismael Fuentes will be out suspended for Jaguares while Paul Aguilar and Rodolfo Cota will be out injured for Pachuca. Pachuca will also be without starting goalkeeper Miguel Calero who is suspended after having been sent off last week.

Necaxa San Luis

San Luis will visit Necaxa in Mexico City on Friday as San Luis continues their surprising playoff push. After not dressing most of the season, Edgar Castillo is projected to start. The American left back saw the field last week as a substitute.

San Luis have found themselves atop their group and should maintain their spot in what would appear to be an easy win on paper

Necaxa will be without Oscar Perez, Ivan Vazquez, and Luis Padilla, who are all injured, while San Luis will be without starter Sergio Ponce, who is suspended.
