DANISH CUP QUARTERFINAL DRAW
Danish Cup quarterfinal pairings were set on Friday, giving Michael Parkhurst and holders Nordsjaelland a trip to Horsens, and handing Benny Feilhaber and Aarhus a home date with Midtjylland.
With league heavyweights FC Copenhagen out of the running, the quarterfinal sees a wide open contest, with any of the eight teams legitimately having a shot to reach the June 2 final in the national stadium Parken in Copenhagen.
After downing Odense with a thrilling 3-2 last-minute win, Parkhurst and the Wild Tigers will look to continue their run at holding onto the cup when they head to the country's mainland to deal with freshly-promoted AC Horsens on November 10.
Horsens pulled off the biggest shock of the fourth round, knocking out FC Copenhagen in Parken by a convincing 4-2 score, and will certainly have their eyes on returning to the national stadium for the final.
Aarhus scored a narrow 1-0 victory on against lower league team Varde IF without Feilhaber in the lineup due to a slight ankle knock, and were handed perhaps the toughest task of the quarterfinal as they must now host Superligaen second-place team Midtjylland on November 10.
Midtjylland reached the final eight by blowing past First Division team HB Køge by a four-goal margin, and will be eager to get another shot at reaching the championship game, where they lost out to Nordsjaelland last season.
Marcus Tracy and Chris Rolfe will miss Aalborg's November 10 home matchup against Esbjerg with prolonged injury problems, after the team knocked out Babajide Ogunbiyi's Viborg on penalties in the fourth round.
