BRADLEY POSTS ROSTER FOR S. AFRICA
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Thursday, November 11, 2010
US national team head coach Bob Bradley today announced the 18 man roster that will take on South Africa next Wednesday November 17th at Cape Town's Green Point Stadium.

The roster does not include many first team regulars and instead will offer an opportunity for many younger players to earn their first cap.

Among the most intriguing selections is Stabaek midfielder Mikkel Diskerud who was a member of last year's US U20 national team and has gone on to have a pair of successful seasons for his Norwegian club.

Another notable pick is Kansas City Wizard forward Teal Bunbury who is the son of former Canadian international Alex Bunbury. The younger Bunbury has previously represented Canada at the U17 and U20 level but was also eligible for the the US. His inclusion in this roster marks another setback for the Canadian program.

Also included are current US U20 stars Gale Agbossoumonde and Juan Agudelo.

Agudelo, 17, emerged late this season with the New York Red Bulls and earned rave reviews for his talented play. The Colombian-born forward is one of the top offensive players for the US U20 national team.

Agbossoumonde, 18, is the current captain of the US U20 national team. While he is still searching for a club after his extension with Braga fell through in August, he is expected to find a new club quickly when the January transfer window opens. Agbossoumonde was widely considered to be the best player in the Milk Cup in July that was won by the US U20 national team.

Also included is MLS rookie defender Tim Ream who was considered by many to be the best rookie defender of the year. The University of Saint Louis product earned high praise for his skills with the ball in addition to his positional defending.

This game against South Africa will be the last game of the year for the US national team and they will be looking for their first win since the 2010 World Cup.
