THOMAS RE-UPS WITH LJUNGSKILE
Michael Thomas will be spending another year in the Swedish Superettan after agreeing to a one year extension with Ljungskile SK.
Thomas joined Ljungskile in mid-season last year after getting released by Allsvenskan club Halmstad.
The former Notre Dame standout became a stalwart for the western Swedish club appearing in 15 matches with 14 of those coming in starts.
He also scored a total of three goals on the season helping Ljungskile to a solid sixth place finish.
The versatile Kansas native was used in many different capacities by the Ljungskile coaching staff including central defense, midfield and even some time at forward.
News of the extension was revealed yesterday by Thomas' representative.
"Michael Thomas has signed a year contract extension with Ljungskile," said Eddie Rock of Libero Sports to YA. "He will be with the club for the 2011 season."
Thomas' fellow American and goalkeeper Nick Noble will also be back with Ljungskile for the 2011 season as part of the second year of his two year contract.
