WOODY BAUM - Thursday, December 9, 2010
Jose Francisco Torres, Herculez Gomez and Marco Vidal will hope that the third time is a charm for Pachuca who will look to avoid a repeat of their previous early round exits at the Club World Cup on Friday.

Pachuca will take part in the annual event in Dubai for the third time as they face African champions TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The American trio of Torres, Gomez and Vidal all look to take part in the tournament although it is not yet known which of them will start.

Torres is a veteran of the tournament, having taken part in it with Pachuca in 2007 and 2008.

The tournament will also provide a showcase for Torres who may be seeking opportunities in Europe or in MLS.

Although not as well known and high profile as several of the other teams competing, TP Mazembe will provide a difficult task for the Tuzos.

Pachuca's head coach Pablo Marini has mentioned the size and physical nature of the African team could pose problems for his squad.

The winner will face Internacional of Brazil in the semifinals.
