PREVIEW: WEEKEND ISRAELI ACTION
Leo Krupnik and Maccabi Netanya travel to face Maccabi Haifa while Bryan Gerzicich and Kiryat Shmona head to Jerusalem to play Beitar Jerusalem.
Maccabi Netanya - Maccabi Haifa
Netanya will be looking to get points away from home against league leaders Haifa. Netanya is currently three points ahead of a cluster of teams that are tied on points in fifth place.
If Netanya can pull off the upset not only will it put them back in the mix at the top of the table, but it would bring Haifa back to the field and tighten up the entire league race here at the halfway point.
American defender Leo Krupnik who has started all league games for his squad will be asked to help keep an attacking Haifa team at bay.
Maccabi Haifa has won four of their last five and are looking to break away from the group and clear themselves at the top of the Israeli League.
U.S. U-20 prospect Alex Zahavi will be hoping to make the game day roster for Haifa for the first time this season.
Ironi Kiryat Shmona - Beitar Jerusalem
Bryan Gerzicicich and Kiryat Shmona will head to Jerusalem to take on Beitar Jerusalem.
Kiryat Shmona who is currently in thirrd place should be in for quite a contest against a Beitar side that is currently in 12 place, but are playing well and have won three of their last four.
Gerzicich has been a steady performer for his team all season in the midfield and is expected to start again in the match that will mark the halfway point in the league season.
Ryan Adeleye midfielder for Hapoel Be'er Sheva has had a tough time getting playing time for his club with only one start and six appearances. He will be hoping to get his chance again Saturday against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
