Bryan Gerzicich and Kiryat Shmona had a long day at the office against Beitar Jerusalem while Leo Krupnik did not feature for Maccabi Netanya.

Beitar Jerusalem 1- 0 Kiryat Shmona

Bryan Gerzicich and Kiryat Shmona struggled to a one goal loss at Beitar Jerusalem over the weekend in front of a crowdless closed stadium in Jerusalem.

Kiryat Shmona's goal scoring struggles continued as they were shut out for the second straight game.

Shmona hasn't scored a goal in the last 220 minutes dating back to their 1-1 tie with Hapoel Be'er Shmona.

Beitar Jerusalem continued the hot streak they are currently on in the Premier League. The win on Saturday is the team's fourth in its last five matches. They have relied on a defense that has registered three shutouts in its last three wins.

Gerzicich put in the full 90 minutes to continue his run of consecutive starts for his team.

The game's lone goal came in the 54th minute when Isreali midfielder Aviram Baruchyan buried a great free kick.

Between Shmona's struggles offensively and Beitar's recent defensive play, chances were few and far between for the visitors.

There were a couple of efforts early on that just didn't quite develop, plus a late push which went for naught.

Kobi Moyal of Beitar Jerusalem and Tomer Swisa and Gabai Eladof Kieyat Shmona each recieved yellow cards in the match. There were also no injuries reported.

Kiryat Shmona is currently still sitting in fourth place in the standings despite the loss. They will play again on December 28th against Ashdod in a Toto Cup match.

Leo Krupnik was not in the lineup for the first time this season and watched from the sidelines as Maccabi Netanya lost 3-0 to Maccabi Haifa. Alex Zahavi of Maccabi Haifa however did not make the bench for the game.

Ryan Adeleye will look for playing time Monday when Hapoel Be'er Sheva plays.
