EDU NEARING RETURN TO ACTION
Maurice Edu says he hopes to be back healthy for Rangers' Boxing Day contest with Motherwell as the American midfielder nears his recovery from a knee injury.
Edu injured the knee back on November 10th in Rangers' shocking 0-3 loss to Hibernian. It is the only defeat thus far on the season for the two-time defending Scottish Premier League champions.
It was the same knee that Edu injured in the 2008-2009 season finale versus Dundee United and many US national team fans were worried that the midfielder would miss another seven months or longer of action.
Fortunately for the California native, there was no serious ligament damage and he says he is aiming to be part of head coach Walter Smith's gameday roster on the 26th.
"[My knee] is getting better," Edu recently told YA. "I'll hopefully be ready for that Boxing Day match."
Rangers have not been in action since a December 11th draw versus Inverness. Adverse weather continues to plague Scotland and officials are hoping to be able to squeeze in Sunday's match.
Edu has appeared in 12 SPL matches this season with one goal scored.
