In Guatemala City today, the draw for the CONCACAF U-20 World Cup qualifying took place and the US was drawn into Group B with Panama and Suriname.

The top two teams from every group advance into the quarterfinals where each quarterfinal match will be a single elimination game to the World Cup as each semifinal team qualifies for the finals this summer in Colombia.

It was a difficult draw because if the US advances to the quarterfinals, they will face one the teams from Group A in Honduras, Jamaica, or the hosts Guatemala in the all important game to determine their qualification fate.

Also in the draw, Group C consists of Canada, Costa Rica, and Guadeloupe. Group D consists of Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Cuba.
