Norwegian 1. Division club Mjondalen has added another American to its squad after agreeing to terms with defender Kyle Helton.

Helton joins fellow American and defender Rhett Bernstein at the club that also had Portland native Graham Dugoni on its books in 2010.

Helton played his college soccer at Duke University before getting drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft by the New England Revolution.

The native of Birmingham, Alabama made his Revolution debut in a US Open Cup match but failed to make an appearance in MLS.

The former Blue Devil then moved on to the then-Austin Aztex of the USL where he made four appearances during the 2009 season.

"Kyle has signed a one year contract with the club," confirmed Mjondalen Sporting Director Kenneth Karlsen to YA.

Helton and Mjondalen begin their 2011 1. Division season on April 2nd when they face Kongsvinger.
