Frank Simek and Carlisle United dropped another home result, this time to Brentford while Mike Grella and Swindon Town succumbed to League One leaders Brighton.

Carlisle United 1-2 Brentford

Frank Simek and Carlisle United went down to Brentford in League One play this weekend.

Simek started and went the distance for the Cumbrians.

Jeffrey Schlupp opened the scoring for Brentford in the 74th minute after he pounced on a poor clearance and scored from 12 yards out.

Just nine minutes later Schlupp scored again after a goal-line scrum let the ball fall to the on-loan Leicester forward and subsequently slotted home.

In the dying minutes of the game, Carlisle's Lubomir Michalik sent a free-kick to the bottom right corner, though it was too late for the visitors.

Leon Legge received a yellow card for Brentford while Harry Arter was booked for Carlisle.

Brighton 2-1 Swindon Town

League leaders Brighton took down Mike Grella and Swindon Town in League One action.

Grella started and was subbed out in the 84th minute for Swindon Town.

The 12th minute saw Brighton's Craig Noone make a dangerous run in the box and be taken down by Andy Frampton, resulting in a penalty kick that Gary Dicker buried.

Just ten minutes later, David Prutton equalized for Swindon with an impressive drive from 25 yards out.

In the 64th minute, Glenn Murray superbly blasted a low shot past Swindon goalie David Lucas, giving Brighton the win.

This puts Brighton's winning streak to seven and has them a 13 point lead in League One.

Jonathan Douglas and Alan Sheehan were booked for Swindon.


Jon-Paul Pittman played the last eight minutes in Wycombe's win over Morecambe.
