RECAP: MACCABI NETANYA 3 - 3 KIRYAT SHMONA
Leo Krupnik and Maccabi Netanya played to a hard fought 3-3 draw at home against Bryan Gerzicich and Hapoel Kiryat Shmona in the second round of the Israeli Championship playoffs.
Krupnik entered the game at halftime for Maccabi Netanya and played the entire second half.
Gerzicich played the entire game for Kiryat Shmona.
Wiyam Amashe opened the scoring in just the first minute when he took a long ball and moved in all alone against Netanya's keeper Carlos Arias and beat him on the right sight with a powerful shot.
The lead only lasted one minute when Sergiy Tretyak took a chipped pass and beat Kiryat Shmona goal keeper Guy Haimov to his right with a low shot from about 10 yards.
In the 31st minute, Shir Tzedek struck again to give Netanya a 2-1 lead when he collected a botched Kiryat Shmona clearance and fired it home from 11 yards.
In the 45th minute Amashe equalized the score at 2-2 for Kiryat Shmona when he headed home a cross from the right side delivered by Shir Tzedek.
In the 59th minute, Ofir Hemo gave Kiryat Shmona a 3-2 lead when he hit a magnificent left footed shot from 25 yards past Arias.
Hen Ezra evened the score at 3-3 in the 80th minute for Maccabi Netanya after he hit a 20 yard laze into the top right corner of the net past an outstretched Haimov.
With the tie, Maccabi Netnaya have kept up their 15 game unbeaten streak dating back to January. They remain in fourth place in the Israeli Premier League and trail third place Maccabi Tel Aviv by five points.
Next Saturday, Mat 7th the Championship playoffs continue with their third round and Maccabi Netanya return to action when they travel to Tel Aviv to take on second place Hapoel Tel Aviv.
The draw also kept Kiryat Shmona in fifth place in the Israeli Premier league and they trail fourth place Maccabi Netanya by just one point. On May 7th they will face sixth place Bnei Yehuda at home.
