PREVIEW: WEEKEND TURKISH ACTION
Jozy Altidore and Bursaspor look to solidify their spot in the Europa League when they host Besiktas while Freddy Adu and Rizespor look to keep their promotion chances alive against Tavsanli
Bursaspor Besiktas JK
Bursaspor welcome their toughest adversary of the remaining season with three games to go as they look to make a final drive for a Europa League berth.
Jozy Altidore may make the start for the Green Crocodiles, but should at least see time as a substitute.
Bursa are trying to hold on third place with Gaziantepspor on their heels just three points behind. A win for the Green Crocs would guarantee them a spot in next season's Europa League.
Head coach Ertuğrul Sağlam will need to find replacements for defender Ömer Erdoğan and midfielder Ozan İpek, who were both sent off in last weekend's 1-0 loss at Kayserispor. Striker Sercan Yıldırım, keeper Dimitar Ivankov, and midfielder Federico Insúa sill remain on the injured list.
Beşiktaş still have five points keeping them out of Europa League competiton. Fortunately, they face no major injuries or suspensions, and are in fine form after thei 2-0 defeat of Galatasaray last weekend.
Caykur Rizespor TKI Tavsanli
Rizespor look to return to the promotion play-off zone on Sunday afternoon, desperately needing a win against fourth place Tavşanli with two games left in the season.
Freddy Adu may get the start following his goal in last weekend's 2-1 loss at Adanaspor as a second-half sub.
In that game Yurus Murat Ceylan picked up his fifth yellow of the season and will have to sit out. Liberian midfielder Theo Weeks is still doubtful for head coach Ümit Kayihan, who has also decided to withhold midfielder Gökhan Kaba for disciplinary reasons.
Tavşanli are also looking for a win to secure a spot in the promotion play-off. Team scoring leader Mehmet Akyüz has 11 goals thus far and will look to spark the attack. Defender Ismail Dinler will sit with a red card suspension after last weekend's scoreless draw with Gaziantep BB.
