PREVIEW: WEEKEND FRENCH ACTION
Quentin Westberg will assume starting duties in Evian's nets as they try to wrap up a second straight promotion while Carlos Bocanegra faces off against his former club Rennes.
AS St. Etienne - Stade Rennais FC
St. Etienne regroup at home with little more to play for than pride, as Rennes come to town looking to make one final push for a Europa League spot.
Carlos Bocanegra will look forward to seeing more than a few familiar faces in his former club, but will look to spoil the reunion in the backline for the Stephanois.
The Stephanois hope to salvage a respectable finish to the season with three games to go. Last Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Lille closed the door on any slim chance at reaching a European spot next season.
Although winless in their past nine games, the Bretons from Rennes can still threaten Paris St.-Germain, who sit in fourth just five points ahead. In last Wednesday's draw against Caen, Rennes defender Kader Mangane struck just before halftime, but M'Baye Niang leveled to snatch the taste of victory from them.
Neither squad face major injury worries or suspensions.
Following starting keeper Bertrand Laquait's injury last Monday, Quentin Westberg could be poised to start between the posts for Evian TG FC when they host ESTAC on Friday night with three games to go in the season.
