PREVIEW: WEEKEND TURKISH ACTION
CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON - Friday, May 20, 2011
Jozy Altidore and Bursaspor will try to clinch third place in the Super Lig against Genclerbirligi while Freddy Adu and Rizespor travel to take on Orduspor

Bursaspor – Gençlerbirliği

The final match for Bursaspor in the Süper Lig season gets underway on Saturday at a neutral site with a chance to clinch the third spot in the standings.

Jozy Altidore may make an appearance as a substitute, coming off a 16-minute performance last weekend in a 3-0 bashing of Kasimpaşa.

With 58 points the Green Crocs are on even terms with Gaziantepspor but have a considerable lead in goal-differential. A win will ensure their entry into the third round of qualifying of the 2011-12 Europa League competition.

Gençlerbirliği will be making the trip from the Turkish capital to Ekişehir, coming off a 3-2 loss at home to Galatasaray. Midfielder Cem Can will not make the trip due to a leg injury.

Orduspor – Çaykur Rizespor

Rize head over to their Black Sea coast neighbors on Monday for the first of a home-and-away play-off to determine the third team earning promotion.

Freddy Adu can expect to relied upon for his recent good form and should start in the midfield. The 21-year old will recall the Ordu squad he faced in his Turkish debut last February when Rize routed their rivals 3-0. In their first meeting in September, the two clubs shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Having not lost in their latest eight outings, Ordu are riding the momentum of a 1-0 win over Denizlispor last weekend.

Neither club are repoting major injury worries.
