Bryan Gerzicich went the full 90 minutes in the midfield for Kiryat Shmona in the season finale as th young team managed a top five finish in the Israeli Premier League

Ironi Kiryat Shmona 2-1 Hapoel Tel Aviv

The local fans went home happy Saturday as the Gerzicich and Kiryat Shmona came up with a stoppage time winner.

Both teams played a lot of unfamiliar faces that have not seen much action this season however Kiryat Shmona did have a few more first team players in the lineup as they were looking for a top five finish in the standings.

Hapoel Tel Aviv was already locked in at second place and rested many of its players ahead of the State Cup finals on Wednesday.

Each team was very complacent throughout the game as scoring chances were limited. Kiryat Shmona got on the board first in the 50th minute when Shmon Abuhatzira found himself alone in front of goal and he calmly finished past South African keeper Bevan Fransman to take a 1-0 lead.

The game continued at its methodic pace until in the 85th minute Nigerian striker Toto Tamuz was fouled in the box by Kiryat Shmona defender Eitan Tibi. Tamuz stepped to the spot himself and tucked the penalty kick away for what looked like a sure 1-1 tie.

Kiryat Shmona had one last fight in them though as Wiam Amashah found the stoppage time winner to give Kiryat Shmona a 2-1 victory in the season finale. Kiryat Shmona owners mentioned how they were very proud of the young club finishing in the top five and were excited about what they thought was a bright future.
