After winning the Scottish Premier League for the third consecutive time, Maurice Edu and Rangers will be aiming to kick of the season where they left off when the host Hearts on Saturday.

Maurice Edu is likely to start in central midfield after he spent most of the summer with the US national team for the Gold Cup.

The Rangers will have new man in charge this season as Ally McCoist took the head coaching job after severing as an assistant to former coach Walter Smith since 2007.

Rangers will be without their captain David Weir who is suspended for the match. Kyle Lafferty suffered a hernia during the offseason and is expected to miss three weeks.

Hearts will be missing Jamie Hamill due to a suspension and Kevin Kyle will not be able to play because of an injury he suffered last year. Midfielder Rudi Skacel is still negotiating his contract and will also not play.
