PREVIEW: MIDWEEK GERMAN ACTION
DAVID SMITH - Wednesday, August 17, 2011
Amaechi Igwe and Babelsberg will be looking for a good performance at Preußen Münster on Wednesday night to get over their weekend collapse.

Preußen Münster - SV Babelsberg 03

Amaechi Igwe should be starting in the Babelsberg defense on Monday afternoon when the team heads east to visit undefeated Preußen Münster.

After going through their first three league games without suffering defeat, Babelsberg were handily beaten by Saarbrücken over the weekend, with a pair of second-half goals ultimately confirming their fate.

Wednesday's game against newly-promoted Münster could create a surprising challenge, as the 3. Liga newcomers have manged to go through their first four games unscathed, picking up three wins and one draw to sit fourth in the standings heading into the matchup.

They scored an impressive 3-1 road win over Carl Zeiss Jena over the weekend, and have rolled off three straight wins in league play.

Babelsberg will only be missing midfielder Christian Groß, who is out for the long-haul with a torn ACL.

The hosts are without long-term injured Stefan Kühne in the midfield and Dominique Ndjeng int the defense as well as midfielder Julian Westerman who is struggling with an adductor pull.

Notes

Preston Zimmerman seems to be a forgotten man on Darmstadt's bench as of late, and did not take the field on Tuesday night for Darmstadt's 1-0 road win over promotion favorites SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
