JOHN KRETLOW - Friday, August 26, 2011
The American trio at IFK Mariehamn look to get back to winning ways, while PS Kemi Kings' Daniel Stevens and Kyle Luetkehan go into a relegation battle against Espoo.

FC Honka - IFK Mariehamn

Mason Trafford, Josh Wicks, and Giuseppe Funicello all look to help IFK Mariehamn get back to winning ways as they take on FC Honka in Veikkausliiga action.

Trafford and Wicks both started and went the distance in Mariehamn's tie against JJK last week, while Funicello was an unused sub. The three are likely to feature this week.

Mariehamn did manage a point last week, but the team is winless in their last seven games. Their last victory came on July 10th when they beat Haka 2-1 at home.

Honka have not won in three games but still only find themselves six points from the last Europa League spot. They tied Jaro on Monday but will look for the three points this week to keep pace in the standings.

Fernando Abreu and John Nordtsrom both missed last week and are questionable to feature against Honka. Mikki Paatelainen, Markus Paatelainen, and Echiachi Okodugha are all on the long-term injury list for Mariehamn.

Honka's coach Mika Lehkosuo is in good luck as his team is in health and will not be missing any players against Mariehamn.

RoPS - Vaasan Palloseura

Etchu Tabe and RoPS look to forget last week's tough loss and rebound with a win against Vaasan Palloseura on Sunday.

Tabe started and played 54 minutes against HJK. The American should again be in the starting lineup against VPS.

RoPS has not won since May 19th and they find themselves not surprisingly in last place, facing sure relegation if they do not start posting wins.

VPs are coming off a loss to MYPA and find themselves just above RoPS in the standings. A win would be crucial for VPS to stay clear of the relegation zone.

Injuries could keep Aleksandr Kokon, Riku Heinin, and Jani Tanska all out once again for VPS.

RoPS' Mika Lahtinen, Janne Niemi and Tom Peat Könönen will all finish up suspensions and will miss this weekend's game.

Espoo - PS Kemi Kings

Daniel Stevens and Kyle Luetkehans look to help PS Kemi Kings post a win against Espoo in Ykkönen play this weekend.

Both teams find themselves deep in the relegation zone and look to this game as an opportunity to commence their climbs back to safety. Espoo is in last place with nine points while Kemi is just three points ahead with twelve.

Stevens started and went the distance in last week's loss to FC Lahti, while Luetkehans made his debut for Kemi, coming in as a substitute in the second half. Both are expected to feature on Sunday.

Henri Louste and Jan Berg look to miss due to suspension for Kemi.

Espoo's Samuel Carter, Niko Perera, and David Uhmo all are questionable to feature because of injuries.

HIFK - AC Oulu

Jeremy Vuolo and AC Oulu take on Kellan Wilson's HIFK in Saturday Ykkönen play.

Vuolo started and went the distance in Oulu's tie against Hämeenlinna last week. The American goalie looks to start once again this weekend. Wilson will start on the bench for HIFK.

Oulu are currently in fourth place and trail first place Lahti by eight points in the standings. HIFK are in ninth place, holding an eleven-point cushion from the relegation zone.

Both teams find themselves fortunate on the injury and suspension front and will bring full strength teams to the game.
