RECAP: MIDWEEK FINNISH ACTION
Josh Wicks and Mason Trafford both featured in IFK Mariehamn's big win over MYPA, while Etchu Tabe and RoPS continue their disappointing season.
MYPA 0-1 IFK Mariehamn
Josh Wicks and Mason Trafford helped IFK Mariehamn post an important victory over MYPA.
Wicks and Trafford both started and went the distance for Mariehamn however, Giuseppe Funicello did not feature.
Canadian Lucas Bellisomo was taken down in the box in the 69th minute, setting up Sebastian Strandvall to score from the penalty spot. This was the only goal of the game and enough to give Mariehamn the win.
With the victory Mariehamn snapped their winless skid and now has a thirteen point lead over RoPS who sit in the relegation zone.
The loss snaps MYPA's two game win streak. They are currently in seventh place and two points ahead of Mariehamn in the standings.
There were no cautions given out during the game.
RoPS 0-2 FF Jaro
Etchu Tabe and RoPS continued their dismal season with a loss to FF Jaro in Veikkausliiga action on Thursday.
Tabe started and went the distance for RoPS, as he has for the greater part of the season.
Ilya Vaganov and Irakli Sirbiladze scored in the 68th and 87th minute respectively, to give Jaro the convincing victory over lowly RoPS.
Maksim Vaslyev and Tommi Haanpää received yellow cards for Jaro while Henrik Ojamaa and Mika Hänninen were cautioned for RoPS.
RoPS is in last place and seven points from safety. They take on IFK Mariehamn this weekend.
Jaro will play Haka on Sunday.
