IFK Mariehamn 5-2 RoPS
Mason Trafford and Josh Wicks helped IFK Mariehamn take down RoPS in a Veikkausliiga matchup.
The American duo started and went the distance for Mariehamn, while Guiseppe Funicello did not feature. RoPS' Etchu Tabe was not in RoPS' lineup.
The scoring started in the 16th minute when Ermin Gadzo put Mariehamn up after Luca Bellisomo set him up.
Just four minutes later, Henry Ojamaan leveled the score for RoPS, after the Mexican Manuel Rivera put him in an easy spot for the goal.
In the 30th minute, Keijo Huusko put RoPS in front with a well taken free-kick, stunning the home crowd.
With minutes to go in the first half, Mariehamn equalized when Sebastian Strandvall scored off of his own free-kick.
Mariehamn continued their good play early in the second half and they were rewarded with another Strandvall goal, this time shooting from 20 yards out to beat RoPS goalie Jules Nyom.
With the game quickly getting out of hand for RoPS, Mariehamn scored two more goals from Kristian Kojola and Niko Ikavalko, in the 76th and 90th minute respectively.
The loss further deepens RoPS' woes, as they are now ten points deep in the relegation zone. Mariehamn now is at 29 points, clear of relegation but still thirteen points from the last European spot.
Trafford and Gadzo were both booked for Mariehamn, while Tuomo Könönen, Omar Yassin, and Ojamaan all received yellow cards for the losing side.
Mariehamn next takes on Haka and RoPS hosts JJK.

The player of the game had to be Randy Edwini-Bonsu, who scored a hat trick. Mika Lähderinne was not far behind though, as the Fin had a brace, scoring in the 63rd and 69th minutes.
With the game way out of reach, Jani Kauppila added a seventh goal for Oulu in stoppage time.
Oulu continues their hot streak and now finds themselves just two points from first place in the Ykkönen. Espoo is in dead last place and 14 points from safety.
