AZ Alkmaar will look to hold on to first place in the Eredivisie on Sunday while Helmond Sport will host a depleted Fortuna on Friday night.

AZ Alkmaar - Roda JC Kerkrade

First place AZ Alkmaar will host Roda JC on Sunday afternoon following Thursday's -- in Europea League action.

Altidore, who went - minutes in the Europa League, will once again start as a striker for head coach. Alkmaar will still be missing Ruud Boymans against Roda as the striker recovers from ankle surgery. Autralian Brett Holman is also out of action after he strained his groin in the teams 2-2 draw against Ajax.

Roda comes in to the game on Sunday with confidence following last weekends 4-1 come from behind defeat of 10-man ADO Den Haag at Parkstad Limburg Stadium.

Head coach Harm Van Veldhoven will lead his "Pride of the South" team against AZ with leading scorer Sanharib Malki. The Syrian international has four goals on the young season, including two during last weekends victory.

Helmond Sport - Fortuna

Following last weekend's wild 3-3 come from behind finish on the road Helmond Sport will head home to face Fortuna on Friday night.

Charles Kazlauskas will look to add to his tally with his second goal in as many games from his familiar position in the midfield for head coach Hans de Koning.

Helmond will once again be without midfielder Ayden Kuijpers as he recovers from a long-term knee injury suffered during training two weeks ago. Remond Strijbosch and Jeffrey Altheer will also be unavailable but are nearing full recovery from their own injuries.

Fortuna comes in to the game following last weekends disappointing 5-2 defeat to Telstar on their home field. In the loss striker Harrie Gommans was shown a red card in the waning moments that will required him to miss Friday's game.

Head coach Wim Dusseldorp has his team sitting just four points behind the home team in the standings but will likely still be without 35-year old Fernando Ricksen as he recovers from injury.
