RECAP: ABERDEEN 1 - 2 RANGERS
Carlos Bocanegra and Maurice Edu continued their winning streak away from home as they beat ten-man Aberdeen away from home.
The game was brought to a standstill as red hot striker Steven Naismith went down just 17 minutes in after a hard challenge on Robert Milson. Typical to his playing style he refused to be taken off, which turned out to be a major mistake. Just three minutes later the striker went down in a heap after twisting his knee under no pressure, being taken off by stretcher.
Luckily for Ally McCoist, all of his strikers are signing the same tune and the substitute Kyle Lafferty turned out to be just as clinical in front of goal.
The goal finally came in the 58th minute when Steven Davis played Lafferty into the box at an extreme angle, but the striker finished with poise.
Things went from bad to worse for Aberdeen who gave up a penalty just nine minutes later. Sasa Papac ran into the box and was taken out by substitute Darren Mackie, drawing a penalty. Nikica Jelavic stepped up and coolly slotted the spot kick home.
Aberdeen were able to pull one back with eight minutes left after a complete miscue from keeper Allan McGregor. Richard Foster let fly from way out, and the routine save went haywire when the ball slipped through the keepers gloves and into the back of the net.
With only second left to go in regular time Rory Fallon was given his marching orders after receiving his second yellow card of the night. Alejandro Bedoya was not selected for the bench, but will hope to get on the roster next weekend at home against Dundee United.
