RECAP: RANGERS 3 - 1 DUNDEE UNITED
Alejandro Bedoya was a 74th minute substitute to join Carlos Bocanegra and Maurice Edu in Rangers win over Dundee United at home.
Nikica Jelavic opened the scoring in the 19th minute as Matt McKay sent in a delightful left footed cross into the box. Running in free at the back post the striker got Gers off to the perfect start at Ibrox Stadium.
The striker made it two in the 63rd minute as Rangers were awarded a penalty kick. Paul Dixon fouled substitute Gregg Wyle in the box and Jealvic made no mistake from the spot beating the keeper who was at full extension.
Dundee United did pull one back as Jon Daly tucked in a tidy header in the 73rd minute. Garry Kenneth flighted a ball into the box and Daly did the rest, putting a crisp header in teh back of Alan McGreggor's net.
Jelavic thought he had his third in the 82nd minute but he would not be allowed to claim his hat trick. Steven Whittaker sent in a dangerous cross and Jelavic's diving header deflected off of Kenneth to end up in the back of his own net for the final goal on the night.
The night ended on a sour note as substitute Wylde was given his marching orders in the final minute for a challenge on Willo Flood. Flood was the only United player to pick up a booking, while Kyle Bartley and Sasa Papac were booked for Rangers.
Up next for Rangers is a home game against St. Johnstone next Saturday.
