PREVIEW: WEEKEND SCOTTISH ACTION
Rangers will look to extend their formidable lead atop the Scottish Premier League standings while Dominic Cervi will not participate as Greenock look to advance in the Cup.
Rangers - St. Johnstone
Alejandro Bedoya will look to join Carlos Bocanegra and Maurice Edu on the team sheet as Rangers welcome St. Johnstone to Ibrox Stadium.
Bocanegra and Edu were involved in last weeks international games for the United States, putting together a solid win over Slovenia on Tuesday. They are now back in Scotland looking to continue as they left off, on a winning streak.
St Johnstone will offer a resistance, sitting just behind third placed Motherwell. Still a long shot off League leaders Rangers, the Saints will be looking to start anew under new head coach Steve Lomas who has joined the club on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Lomas will have Sam Parkin back in the squad who has recovered from a broken ankle. Joining him will be Jamie Adams who was able to shake off a hamstring injury in order to make the trip.
Rangers do have a list of injuries regardless of their League status. Gregg Wylde is still serving a suspension, while Kyle Bartley, David Healy, Sasa Papac, Lee Wallace, and David Weir are all out injured. Steven Naismith is out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury.
Dominic Cervi is ineligible to play in the Scottish League Cup due to his loan agreement, meaning Greenock Morton will be facing Deveronvale with their fourth string goal keeper.
