GONZALEZ AND JOHN LEAVE USMNT CAMP
Major news broke out of the US National Team camp on Wednesday night when it was announced that central defenders Omar Gonzalez and George John have left camp to attend to club related issues.
No further comment was given but such a move suggests deals for both players could be close during this current January transfer window.
The two have been replaced by the Seattle Sounders duo of Brad Evans and Jeff Parke.
John, 24, almost transferred to Blackburn during the summer window but the deal fell through when John and the Premier League Club could not come to agreement on personal terms. John holds a Greek passport and it has also been reported in the past that the Greek national team has been interested in John since he trained with them last year.
Gonzalez, 23, has also been rumored to leave MLS since the November when the LA Galaxy won the MLS Cup. He won the MLS defender of the year in 2011 and has been in the Best XI the last two season. He has two caps for the US team but is yet to play under Jurgen Klinsmann.
