DEFENDER PEARCE TO REJOIN FCN
Defender Heath Pearce has turned down offers from Bundesliga side 1. FC Kaiserslautern and French 2nd division squad SC Bastia and will re-sign with FC Nordsjælland.
Pearce's agent Andreas Kirsch explained the reasoning for the decision, saying, "The main reason is that they offered him a very interesting contract money-wise and he'll play in the first division and he has a lot of respect there "
Pearce joined FCN in February and quickly locked down the left back position; starting the final 15 games of the season and helping his team avoid relegation.
The two-year contract allows Pearce to focus on his development while leaving the door open for a future move.
"He made the decision that he will play another two years over in Denmark and everybody can have a look at him," Kirsch explains. "He plays on a competitive team and somebody can buy him for a lot of money."
Kirsch, however, doesn't believe that it will take long for his client to make the next step forward.
"I think they will sell him after one year. That is the direction of this contract."
With contract negations finished Pearce will enjoy a quick vacation in the US before returning to Denmark for the beginning of training.
FCN begin the 2005/2006 SAS Ligæn season at home on July 20th against SønderjyskE.
