Charlie Davies's road to recovery finally appears that it's getting closer to the end as the striker has been selected into the matchday 18 for Saturday's game at Stade Rennes.

When reached for comment, Sochaux's Media Officer spoke to YA, confirming the speculation that had been swirling during the early morning hours, "I can confirm that Charlie is in the roster for this Saturday's away game against Stade Rennais FC."

Davies has not seen action for Sochaux since his near-fatal 2009 car accident, and after spending last season on loan to DC United there wasn't much expectation of him returning to France. However, DC passed on their option to buy Davies, sending him back to France where he fell back in with Sochaux's reserve team.

Sochaux currently sits in a dead heat for last place in Ligue 1, desperately seeking goals to avoid relegation. The move by Bazdarevic shows that the team is growing frustrated by the lack of offensive output, and are looking for new ways to generate scoring opportunities.

Davies made Sochaux's matchday roster in late 2010 against Bordeaux, but it was more of a symbolic gesture to show loyalty to Davies during his recovery process. Davies scored two goals in eight games for Sochaux in 2009, prior to his accident.
