JOHN KRETLOW - Wednesday, February 15, 2012
Jonathan Spector and Birmingham City were unable to grab three points and threaten the Championship elite as they tied Hull City, while Robbie Findley saw the field in Nottingham Forest's loss to Middlesbrough.

Birmingham City 0-0 Hull City

Jonathan Spector and Birmingham City were held to a draw by Hull City at St. Andrews Stadium in midweek Championship action.

Spector started and went the distance for the Blues.

The scoreless affair extends Birmingham's unbeaten streak to 13 games, although they would rather be winning games rather then tying them.

The Blues are currently sitting in a promotion playoff spot in 5th place, but with teams lurking just points away coach Chris Hughton wants to see victories.

One of these teams lurking closely behind Birmingham is Hull City, who missed a shot at jumping the Blues in the standings and in a playoff position.

Currently the Tigers are just one point from Birmingham, just out of the playoffs.

Steven Caldwell received the only yellow card of the game for Birmingham.

The Blues take on Chelsea in FA Cup action this weekend, while Hull play Brighton & Hove Albion Wednesday of next week in league play.

Middlesbrough 2-1 Nottingham Forest

Robbie Findley and Nottingham Forest lost to Middlesbrough in midweek Championship action.

Findley came off the bench to play the second half for Forest.

Marvin Emnes and Lukas Jutkiewicz were the goal scorers for Middlesbrough who held on for the victory despite Kevin Thomson's red card in the 75th minute.

Joel Lynch was able to get one back for Forest in the 66th minute, but they were not able to tie the game even with a man up for the last 15 minutes.

Joseph Bennett was also booked for Middlesbrough, while Chris Gunter and Luke Chambers received yellows for Forest.

Middlesbrough is just one point from a playoff spot, while Forest are still stuck deep in the relegation zone.

Forest plays Coventry City this weekend, while Middlesbrough travels to play Millwall.

Robbie Rogers did not make the game day roster for Leeds United in their loss to Coventry City.

George John and Daniel Potts did not feature in West Ham United's draw against Southampton.

Conor Doyle did not feature in Derby County's loss to Reading.
